Lunch and Learn: Lawyering in the Child Protective System

We are excited to announce our next Lunch and Learn at MCLC on Friday, March 29, 2019, at 12:30 p.m. Lise Wagner, Esq. and Bob Bennett, Esq., who will be sharing insights and strategies for practicing in the child protective system, with a focus on representing parents in jeopardy and termination proceedings.

A 1993 graduate of the University of Maine School of Law, Lise Wagner has been handling child protective cases for 22 years as an Assistant Attorney General. She has practiced primarily in York County and for the last 13 years in Cumberland County.

Bob Bennett has been a solo practitioner for 18 years, primarily representing parents in Protective Custody cases in Lewiston and Portland. He is the MCILS Resource Counsel for PC cases in Androscoggin and Cumberland Counties, and a 2000 graduate of Vermont Law School. He is also the father of one daughter, 3 dogs and 10 cats.

We are thrilled to have Lise and Bob join us to give a brief summary of the child protective process, as well as their insights into some of the quirks of practicing in this area of law, especially relative to client relations.

Please RSVP to info@mainecommunitylaw.org. As always, lunch will be provided.
